Wastewater Treatment for Cosmetics Industries

Wastewater treatment for cosmetics

The cosmetics industry generates a variety of waste waters. Changing batches of products create the challenge of treating waste water that is continuously changing in its composition and characteristics. Large amounts of waste water are loaded with surfactants, dyestuffs, oils, emulsions and high COD-concentrations and other substances that accrue, especially when switching to a new batch. The waste waters are, at times, also full of foam.

These highly loaded partial streams are treated separately through mechanical separation processes like flocculation, filtration and floatation provide first treatment and additional customer specific methods for de-colorization are applied.

Through their high adaptability for biological waste water treatment and the high adaptation of their biomass, DAS Environmental Expert solutions manage to process difficult biodegradable substances and surfactants with relatively low energy expenditure. Treatment of waste waters with DAS technology reduces costs by recycling water and thus reducing waste water, which in turn, reduces sewage charges.
